Alzheimer's disease advocacy

Making an impact in Alzheimer's disease

We aim to amplify the voices of those affected by Alzheimer's disease and drive meaningful change in their care and support. By listening to their stories and understanding their unique challenges, we strive to bring greater awareness to the experiences of those living with the condition.

We’re proud to assist in raising awareness of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and caregiving through our support of patient advocacy organizations. Alzheimer's disease can have an enormous impact on an individual's life, as well as the lives of those who care for someone with Alzheimer's. Over 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias, and more than 70% of dementia caregivers say that coordinating care is stressful.1

As part of our ongoing sponsorships and collaborations with Alzheimer's advocacy organizations, we are deeply committed to supporting families affected by Alzheimer's disease. These sponsorships and partnerships allow us to support and work alongside experts and advocates to address the unique challenges faced by individuals living with this condition and their caregivers. Below, we have compiled a list of resources designed to provide practical assistance, helpful information, and emotional support for families navigating the complexities of Alzheimer's disease.

The mission of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.

AFA created a national Educating America Tour which brings vital resources to communities across the country, as well as a Fireside Chat web series designed to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and related dementias, the symptoms associated with these diseases, and services available to help.

The Alliance for Aging Research is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the narrative to achieve healthy aging and equitable access to care. The Alliance strives for a culture that embraces healthy aging as a greater good and values science and investments to advance dignity, independence, and equity.

The organization developed a series of videos to help families learn about agitation and other neuropsychiatric symptoms, as well as two other videos showcasing expert conversations on neuropsychiatric symptoms of Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer's Los Angeles improves the lives of local families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias by increasing awareness, delivering effective programs and services, providing compassionate support, and advocating for quality care and a cure.

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s envisions a world without Alzheimer’s, where brain span equals life span. The organization gives voice to patients and caregivers while partnering with government, scientists, the private sector, and allied organizations to combat this disease at every angle.

The BrainStorm by UsAgainstAlzheimer's podcast is hosted Nancy Treaster, a certified caregiving advocate and co-host of The Caregiver's Journey podcast. In this episode, Nancy shares her professional and personal experiences and dives into the most challenging aspects of dementia care and managing agitation.

The organization also hosted a Virtual National Alzheimer's Summit, “The New Era of Alzheimer’s: What Does It Mean for All of Us.”

Caregiver Action Network (CAN) is the nation’s leading family caregiver organization. It works to improve the quality of life for tens of millions of family caregivers. These Americans care for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, or diseases. CAN also supports those meeting the living needs of older adults.
