What is your role in Lundbeck?

In short, my role is to ensure that every person using our Spend Management Software Solution for sourcing, contracting, purchasing, or invoicing has a smooth and enjoyable system experience. To achieve this, I am focusing on granting access to the system to new users, testing and implementing periodical system updates, monitoring integration between this system and other IT systems, and of courseresolving any technical issues reported by users.

Also, most of the projects in the procurement area will involve our Spend Management Software Solution, thus I will engage to advise or support with system configuration and testing.

Thanks to these diverse responsibilities, I am working with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis, including Lundbeck end-users, Procurement & Finance Operations teams, our internal IT department, external IT consultants, solution providers, and last but not least, our suppliers.

What knowledge and skills a person needs to do what you do?

I don't have an IT background. Actually, I am a renewable energy engineer by education. All the skills required for my position, I got over 8 years of employment for several manufacturing companies. The time spent working with our IT systems in various system landscapes was inevitable for me to assume my current position.

Among the must-have skills are analytical thinking, problem-solving, and good communication skills. Some sense of humor and a “can-do” attitude helps a lot too.

What do you like most about your role?

What I like the most in my role, and in Lundbeck in general, is that I can see the impact my work has on the company. I feel needed and respected by my coworkers and management.

It’s refreshing to see agility in the organization – when an issue occurs, everyone actually focuses on solving it, rather than working around or covering it up. It’s a nice place to work and develop.

Who are you outside of your work? What are your passions and hobbies?

First and foremost, I’m a father to my daughter. In what now seems like my past life, I was very active in mountaineering: hiking, climbing, and caving through mountain ranges on four continents.

I also enjoy playing chess and curling. Recently I started riding a motorcycle to commute to the office.

At home, the kitchen is my safe space – for cooking and baking that is, cleaning the mess afterward is a different story…
