Lundbeck’s ambition is to contribute to society by improving the quality of life of people living with psychiatric and neurological disorders. We recognise our economic impact on society and take action to prevent corruption in any form.

Sustained focus on creating value

Lundbeck’s main contribution to society is developing and delivering innovative treatments of psychiatric and neurological disorders. We want to maintain a business model that gives patients access to efficacious medicine and allows reinvestments in innovation to meet unmet medical needs. We recognise that healthcare systems are facing affordability challenges of innovative medicine and we address some of the complex issues related to pricing in our global pricing position.

In addition to providing medicine, we help address the societal burden of psychiatric and neurological disorders. As part of our responsibility for promoting disease awareness, we occasionally provide donations and grants to eligible recipients for appropriate purposes. We carefully assess every request for a donation or a grant through a due diligence process to ensure that our contributions support intended purposes and are aligned with Lundbeck’s Code of Conduct.

Responsible business practices

Lundbeck works with a wide range of suppliers and partners globally to achieve our business objective of providing innovative treatments to our patients. While these collaborations add value to the local economies, we acknowledge that they may also adversely impact on society. To manage these potentially adverse impacts, we ask our suppliers and partners to prevent corruption, provide safe and healthy working conditions and minimise their impact on the environment. These commitments are part of our global supplier evaluation process.

Funding of public services is needed to make societies operate effectively. We contribute to this aspect by meeting our tax obligations in all societies where we operate. We do not engage in artificial or opaque structures that are intended for tax avoidance or lack commercial substance. Our commitment to manage our tax affairs in a compliant and responsible manner is expressed in Lundbeck’s tax policy.

Access to raise concerns

Having an open dialogue is at the foundation of our approach to prevent corruption. The annual Code of Conduct training for all employees supports this dialogue. Under rare circumstances it may not be possible to raise concerns openly and we have established Lundbeck’s Compliance Hotline to enable a confidential dialogue about legal or other serious concerns. The Compliance Hotline is open to anyone who in good faith wants to raise legal and other serious concerns related to ethics.
