Description
The DMPK Group located in Paramus, NJ currently has an opening for a Senior/Principal Scientist with PK/PD expertise to be part of the multidisciplinary small molecule drug discovery program in psychiatry and neurological disorders. The position ensures PK and PK/PD input for project teams from target validation to development candidate nomination. The candidate is also expected to lead the in vivo PK group and the position requires, but is not limited to the following:
- Planning and execution of PK studies and help design relevant behavioral/mechanistic studies with Neuroscience colleagues for enabling PK/PD modeling.
- Good understanding of the commonly used approaches for human PK prediction, and experience in the application of human efficacious dose projections.
- Demonstrated inter-disciplinary knowledge of drug discovery to represent DMPK in project teams providing strategic scientific input in advancing compounds.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior scientists to ensure highest quality scientific contributions to project teams.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of safety standards and internal animal welfare guidelines within in vivo group.
- Proficiency in presentation of original research findings in PK and/or PK/PD with authorship in peer-reviewed scientific publications.
 Qualifications:Â
- A Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical sciences (or related discipline) or Pharm. D. with Pharmacokinetics and PK/PD emphasis.
- 5+ years of industry experience with fundamental knowledge and proficiency in the theory and application of PK and PK/PD data modeling, analysis and simulation of small molecules.
- Prior work experience in biologics would be an advantage.
- Hands on experience in WinNonlin, IVIVC and SimCyp software applications.
- A good understanding of drug metabolism, biopharmaceutics and bioanalytical principles.
- Candidates with CNS experience are preferred, but other therapeutic areas will be given consideration.
- Experienced in effectively managing and supervising professionals with strong leadership skills.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills, interpersonal/influencing skills, and ability to work in a continually changing environment.
- Eligibility to work in the US.
