Lundbeck Research USA, based in Paramus, NJ, is specialized in drug discovery of CNS products for mood disorders and neurological diseases.  An opportunity is available for a Senior Level Synthetic Chemist in our Medicinal Chemistry Group.  The candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality drug development candidates through the effective management of internal and external resources.

Your Job:

• Lead a Medicinal Chemistry project team in delivering candidate molecules.
• Design and synthesize high quality drug development candidates.
• Leverage chemistry CRO resources.
• Work closely with partner lines to advance the drug discovery portfolio.
• Contribute to strategic planning and development of the Chemistry Department.
• Prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentations.
• Play an active role in the scientific community to promote the visibility of Lundbeck.

Your Qualifications:

Our preferred candidate has the following profile:

• PhD in Organic Chemistry with a minimum of 6 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  OR
• MS with a minimum of 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Track record of management experience.  CNS experience preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to apply drug design principles to more effectively deliver high-quality drug candidates.
• Proven track record of scientific excellence demonstrated by publication history and scientific reputation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
