The company is in a strong financial situation with all necessary conditions to expand the company over the coming years.
Consequently, Lundbeck is looking for an experienced scientific Director/ Senior Director to join our scientific assessment team in CBDS. The individual will join a truly dedicated group of diverse individuals with the common focus on retrieving key business opportunities to strengthen Lundbeck pipeline and competitive advantages in our technology platform. The candidate will be responsible for initial scientific assessment of business opportunities and - in close collaboration with our key stakeholders - secure a cross-functionally aligned and effective execution of evaluation processes.
The job contains a significant portion of project management together with applied scientific and strategic understanding.


Your job and key responsibilities
The successful candidate has a strong background within psychiatry research and/or clinical development and understands the pharmaceutical field within depression-, schizophrenia- and associated indications. The candidate will be working with the rest of the CBDS team to proactively pursue key business opportunities. As the evaluation process include several colleagues throughout the value chain, it is important to have the necessary drive, appetite and skills to work as a structured project manager and/or facilitator and be a proactive leader in complex assessment processes. The successful candidate will have a great degree of self-motivation and desire to work in a highly dynamic and busy environment. In addition to the above project management tasks the candidate will lead internal stakeholder processes as well as present various business opportunities to Lundbeck’s Executive Management.
The position reports to VP Thomas Riisager who heads up the global CBDS department.

Qualifications
Our preferred candidate has the following professional- and personal qualifications:
• More than 5 years of experience working in a similar position or with similar tasks combined with a strong pharmacological / pharmaceutical background
• Scientific experience at PhD level
• Strong scientific insight within psychiatry from a pre-clinical and/or clinical perspective
• Analytically savvy including understanding of relevant competitor landscape with a strategic mindset and ability to engage in value proposition considerations
• Highly motivated to be a part of a highly dynamic Business Development department
• Project Management skills: You have previous experience leading cross functional teams
• Good understanding of the full pharmaceutical value chain
• Personal drive, a positive mind-set, are outgoing and enjoy working in a busy and team based environment
• Comfortable in taking on a facilitating role, which implies having the confidence to set an agenda, facilitate constructive discussions, keeping deadlines etc
• Solid presentation and negotiation skills
• Fluency in English is required
