Description

We are looking for very talented PhD organic chemists with a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry to work at our small-scale development site in Lumsås, Nordvestsjælland, approximately 35-40 min from Roskilde. The position is in our Safety and Technical Chemistry group in Lumsås and is part of the Process Chemistry group. It is responsible for the supply of multi-Kg amounts of development candidates to support investigational and clinical studies.  The group is particularly focused on the upscaling of synthetic routes to manufacture API under full GMP to support the required clinical studies.
The candidate should have a strong desire and a demonstrated ability to deliver practical solutions to our synthetic challenges along the different phases of the pharmaceutical research value chain.  The role requires the ability to work closely with the colleagues in the different departments, such as the analytical chemistry and the route-finding groups and consequently necessitates excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will combine great insight and creativity in organic chemistry with an ability to deliver safe, practical and scalable procedures that can be efficiently implemented in our pilot plant.  Consequently, a good understanding of the challenges of performing organic chemistry on scale is very important.  Fluency of English is essential, as is an excellent command of Danish.

Your job and key responsibilities
Development, optimisation and the scale up of chemical processes to enable multi-kg amounts of development compounds to be produced safely under full GMP on time to support clinical studies.  Further development of chemical processes already implemented in process development and design of 2nd generation synthetic procedures.  Enable the transfer of successfully scaled chemical processes to our manufacturing division in Lumsås.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Have specialised in synthetic organic chemistry
  • Have experience in scale up of chemical processes
  • Show initiative; work in an organised and flexible manner.
  • Enjoys working under strict timelines and is goal orientated
  • Good communication skills, it is essential that the candidate has a desire and ability to communicate and collaborates effectively with colleagues and members of other departments. (Team player)
  • Knowledge or experience of GMP is an asset, but not essential
  • Fluency of English is essential
  • Excellent command in written and oral Danish
