Description

Group Compliance Controller to Group Finance in Lundbeck
Unique opportunity for an internal or external auditor, who wants to work with operational and financial compliance reviews of business processes based on a business partner and trusted advisor approach. A role with global exposure and close interaction with HQ and the regional businesses.

The current Group Compliance Controller is about to start as Finance Director in one of Lundbeck’s regions, hence we are looking for an ambitious and experienced candidate to support with the group’s financial risk assurance activities, perform compliance reviews of financial and operational processes, and help ensure quality in the financial reporting from the subsidiaries.
The role is part of Group Finance in a team working with Corporate Risk Management & Financial Compliance, and reports to a Senior Manager in the team. Working out of Copenhagen, the role must expect 8-10 weeks of travelling per year.

Your job and key responsibilities
As Group Compliance Controller, your primary focus is planning, analyzing and executing financial and operational compliance reviews, sometimes alone or with designated stakeholders from Group Finance or the business, but much of your time is also centered on projects such as possible fraud investigations, internal controls, and support to the regions. There is a well-established toolbox that you can utilize, while there is still also room for influencing reporting templates and review processes. Focus is on communicating issues that are of strategic importance for future financial decisions.

You are part of a small specialized team, taking ownership for your own projects, collaborating with key stakeholders in HQ and in the regions, and supporting your colleagues with your specialized knowledge about compliance, reviews and e.g. forensic accounting. Besides participating in projects, some of your daily tasks include to:

  • Plan the annual compliance reviews, based on strategic and current business issues.
  • Review and document financial and operational processes, and report to the regions and Group Finance Senior Management.
  • Prepare memorandums to e.g. the Audit Committee and external auditors regarding specific accounting issues.
  • Keeping the Authorization & Signing Policy up-to-date.
  • Advice and support regional Finance Directors, and stakeholders in the Shared Service Center in Poland.
  • Support in the external financial reporting to ensure compliance with IFRS.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of IFRS and keep up to date on developments within IFRS.
  • Ad-hoc participation in the accounting evaluation of potential M&A transactions and other projects.

Location – Valby

Qualifications
Ideally, you have an academic degree as M.Sc. in Auditing, combined with 3-5 years of practical experience from external and/or internal auditing. You are used to planning and executing own reviews and audits in an international audit firm and/or from an international company listed on the stock exchange. You have experience with IFRS, and with a strong outset in auditing, you have specialized in compliance, internal controls, risk assurance, and possibly forensic accounting. It is an advantage that you know SAP or are used to working with other ERP systems.

As a person, you are responsible, structured, proactive, and communicative. You genuinely thrive in a dynamic environment, where there is a need for precision and attention to detail, combined with never losing the overview. You are confident in your professional skills, but you are also humble to the fact that you can still learn a lot more from your surroundings. You are fluent in English, both in writing and orally, and are comfortable working with Excel and PP.
